Jan & Michael signing off here. Words and pictures give a glimpse of Dawn and Al's days but simply cannot convey the epic journey they have undertaken, and have now nearly finished! On top of this Dawn and Al are great trail company, and have been unparalleled in squeezing us through tight fence holes, wayfinding in difficult spots, and teaching us about both "Al-miles" and cask ales (in that order!). We can't thank them enough, they're great!
We walked into Inverness late this afternoon with mixed feelings. While our legs and feet are oh so grateful to reach the end of our trail, we'll miss the fun and adventure we've had everyday for the past two weeks since taking our first steps out of Edinburgh. We wish Dawn and Al sunshine, good trails, safe travel and all success in completing their fantastic LEJOG journey!
Location:Inverness
Farewell Michael and Jan! Enjoyed seeing and reading your contributions. Shame about the blisters, but it sounds like a pretty great couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteAl and Dawn, we were in Corvallis yesterday, so naturally we stopped in to update Cooper on your LEJoG progress. I'm sorry to say he was thoroughly unimpressed. He did, however, enjoy having his forehead rubbed.
Just checked the itinerary, looks like this is the last rest day. The home stretch! Some light days peppered into that home stretch too (given that 18 is the new 12). Feels more like you were planning it as a victory lap of sorts. I can see you both high fiving everyone you pass for the next 10 days!
ReplyDeleteWhat will we see that we haven't seen before over the last 10 days of the blog? Do they have some new kind of baby sheep this far north?
